Family Guy but not The Simpsons ? House and Lost but not The Shield ? Simon Baker!! but not Michael Chiklis? huh??

I’ve never seen “The Shield” but I do know the producers of “The Simpsons” did not submit their show to be considered for a Best Comedy Series Emmy (they have chosen to submit for best animated series). They tried for the big prize in seasons four and five and gave up. “Family Guy” did submit their show for Best Comedy.

    True crime? “Friday Night Lights” completely ignored.

    Pure bliss: “Nurse Jackie.” I’ve bull-dozed through about eight episodes in the last few days and it is really good. With “Dexter,” “Weeds,” “The United States of Tara,” and now “Nurse Jackie,” Showtime deserves some props.

  2. I highly recommend The Shield –it’s been one of the best dramas of the last few years. I did not know that shows had to be “submitted” for consideration–something that seems to compromise the idea that the Emmys identify the best material on television (rather they just select from whatever people bothered to submit). So I guess Squidbillies and Aqua Teen Hunger Force don’t have much chance for best animated series?
