I watched the MTV Movie Awards for about ten minutes and then got bored. As a result, I missed this.
Quite a stunt, and one wonders if Eminem was in on it, as his storming out of the hall with his entourage was the icing on the cake. Bruno will be out June 10. I can’t imagine, given we are all graduates of Borat, that the film will have any real power and shock-force. But the Eminem stunt has whet my appetite and I now crave everything Cohen.
The way the sequence is edited, there is a conspicuous shot of Eminem looking up at Bruno about four or five seconds before landing. Furthermore, the positioning of Bruno’s butt cheeks in Eminem’s face suggests a remarkable degree of accuracy. I’m thinking it was completely staged. Still, both artists get to play their respective roles, and Em doesn’t have to hug it out with Elton John to prove he’s not a total homophobe/asshole.
